Curral das Freiras is a small parish surrounded by huge mountains in the heart of the Island. In the old days it was just a corral where the cattle was left to graze, until in 1566 an attack by pirates led a group of nuns to flee where they found refuge, since it was a place that was not accessible by sea and surrounded by the highest mountains on the island.
This canyoning stands out for the amazing views of the surrounding mountains along the way. Along the descent we have 8 rappels where the biggest waterfall is 15 metres, 2 jumps and a spectacular 6 metre toboggan or jump that we can repeat again.
